Dessert

Vanilla Cupcake Recipe

The other day I was craving cupcakes primarily because I was surfing through Pinterest and was salivating at all the desserts other people had posted. I have been looking for a cupcake frosting that’s not too sweet but light and creamy. Here is a vanilla cupcake recipe with a light cream cheese frosting. Since I can’t resist chocolate I had to add some chocolate shavings on top. I also did try the frosting with cocoa and absolutely loved it.

Paleo Carrot Cake

The Paleo diet, also known as “the caveman diet”. If you ask me, It definitely has been getting a lot of hype these days.
I use a lot of ingredients that are a more healthier option for you. Instead of white or wheat flours I tend to use nut flours such as almond which is a lighter flour. Sometimes I’ll incorporate coconut flour as well; this flour is a lot denser. Instead of bleached white sugar I use honey or maple syrup and if I don’t have those I will use cane sugar or raw. I did add a little organic powdered sugar for the frosting.

Russian Honey Cake

It's easy to make but requires a lot of time. The Russian Honey cake is a very popular cake in Russia and is used in any special event. It has a very sweet and sour taste to it that always hits the inner sweet spot inside. It does take time to make but is so worth it in the end. Many people make this cake in different ways and it always turns out great. Some people add dulce de luche in-between the layers while others add sour cream and sugar. Some people add many layers while others just add a handful. Play around with the recipe and try to make it your own. You can add fruit or nuts to it or nothing at all.

Banana Bars

Is it just me or whenever I have extra ripe bananas left over I always wanna bake something. Bananas equal dessert craving! I always make banana bread but today I am really switching it up and trying banana bars. I know, I am really going extreme here. I don't like to eat a lot of sugar but occasionally I like to treat myself and so these bars have sugary cream cheese frosting. My husband said he was waiting all day for these. That makes me feel good, at least I'm doing something right in the kitchen.

Ginger Bread Cake

Yesterday I was craving an allspice kind of cake and ran into a great recipe. Anything from muffins, breads, cakes, etc..., allspice recipes are my favorite kinds of recipes. They are great in the morning with coffee/tea or as a delicious dessert that is not too sweet or too full of chocolate. They are also great as a little snack and I love spreading butter all over the top, yum! I also add a hint of walnuts to add that nutty taste to your palate. Allspice cakes remind me of fall and the beginning of winter. It's something that can comfort you and make you feel warm and cozy. Are you getting hungry yet?!

 Tiramisu

I was looking for a good recipe online and could not find one that I really liked until I came upon "The Best Tiramisu you will ever Make" by Chef Dennis! I had to try it out and see if it truly is the best out there. Many people make Tiramisu different ways and I myself have made it differently but something in that title made me try it. Thank you Chef Dennis for inspiring me and opening up the best Tiramisu ever!

This is very creamy pudding that originated in Norway and is very popular among the people. The pudding is layered with a thick cream and shredded chocolate shavings in between the layers. When I saw the recipe I knew I had to try it and I’m glad I did. It is a very light and creamy pudding that is very easy to make and delicious to eat!

Who knew that gummy bears can be nutritious for you! Well, I have a recipe that will blow your mind and stomach.

The main ingredient in gummy bears is gelatin. Gelatin is made from animal bones but don't be nervous it's actually good for you! Depending on the gelatin you use, you can make these nutritious snacks for your whole family.

 Allspice Molasses Cookies

These soft and delicious allspice cookies are made from molasses, coconut oil, and many spices. All the ingredients come together to give each cookie a bite full of goodness. I have never come across cookies that are so soft that they melt in your mouth. You need to give them a try and tell me what you think.

I was actually craving a cookie that hit all my craving spots. A cookie that's not too moist or too hard. These cookies are perfectly soft and sweet. I love cinnamon, ginger, molasses, and all of the ingredients in this wonderful recipe. Everything just balances itself out.

 Coconut Flour Cupcakes

I have been looking for a great alternative to all-purpose flour and ran into coconut flour recently. I have tried some recipes  with coconut flour and they did not turn out the way I wanted them to. I decided to give coconut flour another try with this recipe and it turned out fantastic. It turned out nice and airy. Almost like angel food cake. I added a delicious light frosting on top that has a sweetness that doesn’t overpower the cupcake.

 Homemade Sour Cream Waffles

It's one of those mornings where waffles are on my mind. Since we moved recently I noticed that I have a waffle maker. How dumb of me to not use it more often and to even forget I own one of those. For two days straight now my husband has been asking for waffles and for two days straight we have been indulging in waffles.

 Doughnut Recipe

This is a really easy and simple way to make delicious doughnuts. This recipe incorporates biscuit dough so you can either make the dough from scratch or buy the biscuit dough already made. You can find tons of sites that have great biscuit dough recipes. I decided to go the easy route and buy 2 biscuit containers from Trader Joes. There are also some good ones at Whole Foods.

Crepes

These are sweet and delicate crepes that  go perfect with fruit, powdered sugar, maple syrup, or honey.

I found this recipe a long time ago and have used it ever since. I know a lot of people get intimidated by trying to attempt to make these scrumptious crepes but they are actually very easy to make. It’s an easy recipe with simple ingredients and very enjoyable to eat.

 Raw Date Balls

These raw date balls are a mouthful of goodness.

Coconut Kefir Icecream

So I have been looking at my ice cream attachment, for my kitchen aid, for six months and have not had the energy to make anything until I came upon this recipe. I tweaked the recipe and added my own twist to it. This recipe incorporates kefir and coconut and it's so so delicious.

I put the mixture in the freezer and have been having it a couple times a day. It's so much healthier and only has frozen raspberries and honey as a sweetener. It's a great pro-biotic dessert and takes care of my sweet craving for the day...

Apricot Filled Crescent Rolls (Rogaliki)

Rogaliki are little flaky crescent cookies that are filled with different preserves and then rolled in powdered sugar. They are very popular in Russia and are fairly easy to make. My mother makes these delicious, soft, and flaky cookies all the time...

Hazelnut Bundt Cake with Dulce de Leche

The title says it all, "Hazelnut and Dulce De Leche Cake". This recipe screams "out of this world" goodness. Actually this recipe was only suppose to be a nice hazelnut bundt...

Apple Filled Braid

Pumpkins, cider, cool breeze, scarves, leaves drifting by, the fall season is finally here! If we could only have the trees stay beautifully colorful for a little bit longer. Fall is my favorite season of them all and I love the tasty flavors that come with this season, cinnamon being one of them. Bring on the fall favorite baking!

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe never seems to fail me and this is my go to for my chocolate chip cookie craving. This is husband satisfactory and he usually demands that I make these all the time. I personally enjoy these myself. If you have ever tasted Sweet Marthas Cookies at the fair, these taste just like them! So grab a cup of milk and these fantastic cookies and satisfy that craving!

The Best Cupcakes Ever!

These are the best vanilla cupcakes that have ever touched my mouth! I would describe these little scrumptious cakes as heavenly. They are so soft that they just melt in your mouth. The frosting goes so well with these and does not over power the entire cake. I actually ate three cupcakes in 5 minutes and then felt so "great" about it! That is how good they are. I love anything from scratch and do not dare buy anything from a box.
